The York Academy is a tuition-free, diverse non-profit public school of choice in York, PA. Our students receive a stellar, well-rounded education that prepares them for college and beyond through the highly academic International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. They are part of a supportive small school community that's motivating and uplifting. Our caring, qualified educators empower students to

Since international mindedness is key to the IB curriculum, Spanish instruction starts in kindergarten and is a core subject from seventh grade on. Students also use the design cycle in our innovative Design Technology courses and express themselves through numerous progressive performing and visual arts programs. Since we opened our doors in 2011, our Lower School (K-6) has reached capacity each year and had a substantial waiting list. News and World Report rank it as one of PA's top five charter elementary schools. In addition, 100% of the graduates in our first two classes (2022 & 2023) are continuing their education. Numerous students qualified as National Merit Scholars and one graduate was a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition, an outstanding achievement. She received a full scholarship and studies engineering at Vanderbilt University. Other graduates attend Haverford College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Temple University, Bridgewater College, Allegheny College, and more. Two of our alumni received scholarships to play collegiate sports. One is on the Women's Golf Team at Wagner College and the other plays Men's Basketball at Florida Memorial University. Their majors range from pre-med and biology to animation, music technology, and sociology. Their success is a result of hard work, the distinct advantages of the IB curriculum, and the support of their teachers and families.
