I'm proud to announce announced that $6.7 million from the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will go toward four different projects here in the 95th district.

RACP provides funding for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects like these.

I’d like to thank the Commonwealth for this critical investment in our communities. Every one of these projects represents conversations with local leaders and advocates who ensured that these projects receive the investments they deserve.

I'm honored to have done my part in securing these funds for the people of York County.

Today, my colleagues and I passed a budget that strengthens our communities and invests in our future—without raising taxes for working families.

In brief, the 2026-27 budget delivers by:
✅ Investing in public schools and higher education
✅ Expanding affordable housing opportunities
✅ Providing tax relief for working families
✅ Supporting law enforcement and community safety
✅ Improving access to healthcare and services for seniors
✅ Creating jobs through workforce development and economic investment
✅ Strengthening retirement security for teachers, first responders, and other public servants

I'm proud to have voted YES for a budget that delivers real results for our community; I voted to give our retired teachers, police officers, and firefighters a long-overdue raise. And in addition, this budget invests money into our children and our future in the 95th District by increasing funding to Central School District, West York Area School District, York City School District, and York Suburban School District.

This was about practical solutions that help families keep more of what they earn, support local businesses, and ensure Pennsylvania remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The budget now heads to Governor Josh Shapiro's desk for his signature.

Today, we celebrate not only our nation's independence, but also America's 250th birthday.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a bold idea changed the course of history: that all people are created equal and deserve the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

As we gather with family, friends, and neighbors this Independence Day, let's honor the sacrifices of those who built, defended, and strengthened our nation—and recommit ourselves to building a brighter future for the generations that follow.

My staff and I wish you all a safe, joyful, and happy Fourth of July. Happy 250th Birthday, America!

York County Office of Emergency Management has collaborated with agencies across the county to assist people that may be struggling due to the extreme heat.

On Wednesday, I joined DCED Secretary Rick Siger for a tour of a new mixed-use housing project under construction at the former Dentsply manufacturing site in York.

Located at 550–570 W. College Ave., the Dentsply complex project will create 81 apartments as well as retail, office, and makerspace space.

In an effort to address Pennsylvania’s projected shortage of roughly 185,000 homes by 2035, Gov. Josh Shapiro’s Housing Action Plan supported the project with an investment of more than $1.53 million through the Mixed-Use Housing Development Pilot Program.

Affordable housing is a necessity for every community, and this project represents meaningful progress toward ensuring that more individuals and families gain access to safe, stable, and attainable homes. Efforts like this help strengthen our neighborhoods, support a healthier local economy, and build a more equitable future for all of us in the 95th Legislative District and across the Commonwealth.

This project is about more than new units -- it is about creating opportunities for individuals and families to live, work, and thrive in the heart of our community!
