Game Night at Olivia's House was another dice-rolling success this month, with a full roster of gamers filling our grief center’s third floor with laughter, camaraderie, and fun! With new faces joining us every month, you’d think this group had known each other for years the way they were ready to dive into the world of gaming together. And it wouldn’t be Olivia’s House unless we added in a little remembering of their loved one, too. We can’t wait to see everyone next month!

It has been such a pleasure working with the Women's Network of York as they've raised funds to provide some much-needed love and support to the amazing Moms that we've supported over the years. Through the most recent round of our Take a Breath Initiative, we used these funds to patronize some of our favorite businesses in York! From dinner at South County Brewing Co., to pastries at Banky’s Bakehouse; a relaxing massage at Lébo Aesthetics & Spa, and a gas card to Rutter's. . . we made sure these women could really have a day to themselves to “take a breath!”

Donated by our friends at Books a Million, the YA classic “Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson now has copies in both of our libraries! Aimed for older teen readers, this novel tells the story of teen Melinda who feels so hated and misunderstood by her peers after an experience at a summer party that she stops speaking altogether. Luckily, art doesn’t require spoken language, and Melinda uses her newfound passion to heal, connect, and find her power.

The Grief and Loss Lending Library at Olivia’s House is a sight to behold! Each shelf is filled with the most unique, age-appropriate, and up-to-date resources, and it is our honor to share them with the community!

Had a great time attending the BLM Construction & Remodeling, LLC open house and appreciation event with longtime volunteer Joe. We were honored to tour their incredible new facility and showroom — a beautiful space designed for their team to work, grow, and connect. Congratulations to Barry, Heidi, and the entire BLM team on this exciting next chapter!

We are so grateful for BLM’s friendship and support over the years. From our Cafe remodels to many other projects at Olivia’s House, their attention to detail, honesty, and professionalism have always stood out. Heidi is also one of our program alumni and recently shared her story on our podcast, making the evening even more meaningful.

Big things are happening behind the scenes for our Little Ones program! 🎬✨

During the COVID pandemic, our team created an in-house video series for our Little Ones program to help grieving children and families stay connected and supported from home. 💙

Now, with the incredible team at RL Productions, we are excited to be professionally reimagining and expanding that series for a new generation of Little Ones families. A huge thank you to the Freedman Family Foundation and The J. William Warehime Foundation for making this project possible through their generous support. We cannot wait to share more soon!

Today and every day, we are grateful for the wonderful volunteers at Olivia’s House! ❤️ Their time, energy, and dedication make such a meaningful difference. Whether they’re stuffing envelopes, planting flowers in our garden, supporting the families in our programs, or serving as board and committee members, Olivia’s House would not be possible without their support. Thank you to every individual who helps make our mission possible. We appreciate all that you do! 👏

Did you have a yard sale recently and it got rained out? ☔️ Or maybe you are getting ready to clean out your kids’ playroom before school is out for the summer. 🧸 If so, please consider donating your unwanted items to Community Aid. Olivia’s House is a proud “Partner Agency” and our mission benefits from your donations. Simply mention our partner #50014 to the attendant at drop off. Happy cleaning!
