May was full of energy across York County! Here’s a look back at some of our team highlights from the month:

📸 Give Local York brought a powerful start to the month. From our White Rose Handout to First Friday on Beaver Street, chances are you ran into our team. Thank you to everyone who supported Downtown York, PA throughout Give Local York!

📸 On May 2, Crispus Attucks York held a public grand opening for their new History & Culture Center. You certainly can’t beat these rooftop views!

📸 The Garden Club of York brought a burst of color to Downtown York, PA with their annual spring planting.

📸 Downtown York, PA and the BLOOM team joined City of York Mayor Walker for a business walk through Central Market, connecting with local businesses and community members along the way.

📸 On May 21, YCEA hosted our annual Legislative Luncheon centered around an important community conversation focused on the issues that most affect quality of life in York County. The discussion explored how access to housing, transportation, and recreation intersect to shape vibrant, economically resilient communities.

📸 Beautiful weather made for a great day at our Hiring Fair in partnership with the York Revolution. With more than 90 attendees, it was an exciting opportunity to connect job seekers with local employers.

📸 Matching florals made for the perfect touch at our final Economic Insights before our June break. We look forward to seeing everyone back at Economic Insights in July.

Thanks for taking a look back with us. We are excited for what’s ahead as we head into the summer season!

Did you know UPMC Memorial in York County has its own farm?!

Through the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation Farm to Hospital program, the concept was designed to address the root causes of illness through nutrition, movement, and whole-person wellness. "Hospitals can treat illness, but they can also be hubs for wellness," Dr. KimberLee Mudge, breast surgeon at UPMC Leader Surgical Associates and imaginer of the program.
