Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc.

Our membership is a diverse group of citizens drawn from all walks of life, spanning more than 50 years in age. Our interests and skills are many and varied.

The Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a not for profit, Basic Life Support provider, which has been providing Emergency Medical Service to the town of Yorktown since 1963. We are families of one and families of eight, and everything in between. We have grown up and attended schools both locally and internationally. We are certified and licensed in many trades and occupations. Some of us contin

ue to pursue careers or professions...others have retired from one or more careers. We are your friends, co-workers, relatives and neighbors, drawn together by a common interest in providing emergency medical service and a strong desire to give a little back to the community in which we reside.

🚑 In July 2026, our dedicated volunteers responded to a total of 168 calls to provide emergency medical care and support to our community. Every call represents someone in need—and every response is made possible by volunteers who are committed to serving their neighbors.

We're always looking for new members to join our team! Whether you're already EMS-certified or interested in becoming an EMT, there are opportunities to make a real difference.

Tom Dunn recently visited YVAC’s monthly membership and business meeting to present a donation. Tom presented a check from the FAM JAM organization from the proceeds of the 2026 event.

Why FAM JAM?

Every year Yorktown continues to grow with new families. In 2022, the FAM JAM family united to bring our town something special: a family-oriented festival that raises money to support the needs of our local community. As responsible partners, we recognize that our town needs a robust sports program for our youth, stocked food pantries, a well-equipped fire and ambulance department, as well as services for our active military personnel and veterans. Thus, the creation of FAM JAM.

2026 Beneficiary: Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps / Mohegan Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps & Local Scholarships.

On Tuesday, August 4th we were invited to attend National Night Out by Yorktown Police Department. It was a wonderful event and great to meet everyone in the community! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!

In 2025, we responded to 1,711 calls with the help of our many volunteers. This includes medical emergencies, automobile accidents, and standbys.

Last weekend Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps celebrated 63 years of Service!! Thank you to everyone for their dedication and thank you for everyone who came to celebrate with us! Congratulations to all the award winners, top member calls and top riding hours!
