๐ŸŒ€ Hurricane Season Readiness Starts Before the Storm Arrives

Last week, personnel at Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown participated in a hurricane preparedness exercise designed to test emergency response plans, decision-making processes, and operational coordination during a severe weather event.

Through a realistic scenario and collaborative discussions, participants evaluated response procedures, identified areas for improvement, and strengthened the command's ability to protect personnel, maintain mission readiness, and recover quickly following a storm.

With hurricane season underway, exercises like these are essential to ensuring our team is prepared to respond effectively when real-world emergencies arise. Preparedness is a year-round effort, and training today helps build resilience for tomorrow.

Stay informed. Have a plan. Be prepared.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Memorial Day at TRACEN Yorktown ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekendโ€”it is a solemn reminder that our freedoms were secured by heroes who answered the call and never returned home. Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to duty continue to inspire every member of the Coast Guard and Armed Forces.

As we spend time with family and friends, let us remember those who gave their lives so that others might live in freedom. We also keep their families and loved ones in our thoughts, recognizing the sacrifices they continue to bear.

At 1200, TRACEN Yorktown will render a 21-gun salute in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. We encourage everyone to take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember the fallen whose courage and selfless service continue to inspire us today.

From all of us at Training Center Yorktown, we honor the fallen, cherish their legacy, and recommit ourselves to the values they defended.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
