💀🌼 ¡Celebrando la Vida y la Cultura! | Spanish Club at Mu***os Fest 2026 🌼💀

Our Spanish Club Wildcats had an unforgettable cultural experience at Mu***os Fest in Hemisfair Park, near the iconic Tower of the Americas in San Antonio! 🇲🇽❤️

Students immersed themselves in the beautiful traditions of Día de los Mu***os as they explored stunning ofrendas, enjoyed the vibrant sounds and movements of Ballet Folklórico dancers, and experienced the delicious flavors of Mexican culture with refreshing aguas frescas and mouthwatering Mexican-style elote. 🌽🥤 Students also had the opportunity to shop at different vendor booths for unique souvenirs to remember their adventure. And, of course, we had some fun! A couple of our students were gifted lucha libre masks and proudly tried them on! 🤼‍♂️😎

Experiences like these bring our classroom learning to life, allowing students to connect with the language, traditions, art, food, and rich cultural heritage of the Spanish-speaking world. Learning Spanish is so much more than vocabulary and grammar—it's about experiencing culture, making memories, and celebrating traditions that bring people together. 🕯️🌺

From the classroom to the community!
Yorktown High School Culinary Arts had the honor of catering the Women’s Conference at First Baptist Church in Cuero today!
Students prepared a Mediterranean-inspired meal featuring Greek chicken over chickpea and spinach salad, Greek orzo salad, Mediterranean vegetable tian, and pita. Behind every plate were days of preparation and opportunities to practice food safety, recipe scaling, teamwork, and the attention to detail that goes into catering a large event.
Thank you to the conference organizers for trusting our program and giving our students an opportunity to use their skills to serve others. A special thank-you to Helen Reese and Camille Smolik for sharing their time, guidance, and industry experience.
We are proud of our students and the work they put into bringing this meal to the table! 💛

📚🐾 Vocabulary Fun with Ms. Peyton’s Class! 💛🖤

Ms. Peyton’s Wildcats practiced their vocabulary in a fun and interactive way using Lead4ward’s Vocabulary Pyramid! 🔺 Students worked together to strengthen their understanding of important vocabulary while building connections and making learning engaging.

Our Wildcats had a web-tastic time practicing subtraction during Spider Math! Students worked on subtracting spiders that were stuck in the web, making math hands-on, and engaging.

♦️♣️MATH FACT FRIDAY♠️♥️

Our students put their multiplication skills to the test with a friendly game of Multiplication War! Each round gave them a chance to practice their math facts, build confidence, and strengthen their math literacy, all while having fun together.
A little friendly competition adds up to a lot of learning!

Today was Smart Cookie Day at YISD! We celebrated Honor Roll students for their academic accomplishments for the first 9 weeks! Congrats to our All A’s and A/B Honor Roll.
