October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Today, members from Lake Mohegan Professional Firefighters | IAFF Local 2956, were standing by at the Annual Support Connection Fundraiser / walk at FDR Park in Yorktown NY. Luckily, the weather held out and there was a great turn out!

Shout out to Lieutenant Donohue (retired) who not only joined us today but was the #1 salesperson for our tee shirts. Thanks Lt!

While assisting in the fundraising efforts, we were happy to sell quite a few tee shirts that help bring attention to breast cancer awareness as well as raise money for Support Connection.

We would like to thank everyone who attended today’s event as well as all of the continued community support!

If you weren’t able to attend today’s fundraiser and would like to purchase a tee shirt, please feel free to send us a message on Facebook or Instagram.

Also, keep an eye on our website (link in bio). Tee shirts will be available for purchase online soon via our brand new E-commerce store.

All proceeds from our tee shirt sales are donated to Support Connection.

As many of you know, back in May, we experienced the unexpected and untimely passing of 60 Control Dispatcher "631", Deputy Chief, Fire Commissioner William Hecker- "Billy", "Mr. Happy". As we continue to keep Vice President, and Fire Police member Anita Hecker, and her entire family, in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, we have also found a way to assist her and her family.

Just prior to Billy's untimely passing, he and Anita had recently moved to South Carolina where they had purchased a new home and where they were slated to enjoy their retirement. Due to Billy's passing, Anita has chosen to relocate back to New York to be closer to her two children and grandchildren.

We are looking to raise money to help offset the costs of Anita's move and to give Billy the proper memorial that he well deserves. In an effort to secure the funds necessary for both of these tasks, a GoFundMe Page has been created. GoFundMe is a crowdfunding platform that allows people to raise money for events and incidents such as the one the Hecker Family is currently experiencing.

A link to the Hecker Family GoFundMe Page titled, "Help Bring Anita Home!" can be found in the comment section.

All help is needed from Friends, Family, and the Fire Service Family so any and all contributions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You for your support!
