What does an advocate do?
A CASA advocate plays a vital role in helping ensure a child’s needs and best interests are understood and represented throughout their time in the foster care system.
Advocates:
👉 Learn the child’s situation by reviewing records, speaking with those involved, and understanding the full picture
👉 Build a consistent relationship with the child, offering stability, trust, and a caring adult presence
👉 Advocate in court by sharing objective findings and recommendations to help guide informed decisions
👉 Monitor progress & services to ensure the child is receiving the support, care, and resources they need to thrive
It’s about showing up, staying consistent, and making sure a child’s voice is never lost in the process.
