Childcare is now open on our campus.

Small Wonders Discovery & Learning Center has opened its newest location on the Emery Ave. side of our campus, and they are enrolling now. They care for children from 6 weeks old through preschool, Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

For our students who are parents, this means your child can be cared for right here while you are in class. Small Wonders is JFS approved and accepts child care assistance and foster families. Diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, hot lunches, and snacks are all provided.

The center is open to Youngstown families too. Enroll by October 31 and the enrollment fee is waived. To schedule a tour, call or text Small Wonders at 330-420-8368 or visit SmallWondersLearningCenter.org.

Getting your child to school should be the one thing you never have to worry about.

At Mahoning Valley Community School, busing is answered. We provide free, reliable transportation for our students, so your teenager gets to class on time and you get your mornings back. No guessing games, no waiting on a corner wondering if the bus is coming.

That is on top of everything else we offer: small classes where staff know every student by name, a State of Ohio high school diploma, free industry credentials in fields like safety, IT, and manufacturing, and free enrollment with no tuition and no application fee.

We serve students ages 14 to 21, and you can enroll or transfer at any point in the year. If this school year has not started the way you hoped, you have a choice, and the door is open right now.

No one falls through the cracks here.

Some students need a different pace and a team that pays close attention. That is exactly what a small school is built to give. If your student stepped away or fell behind, there is a way forward here.

Big schools are getting bigger. We went the other way on purpose. Smaller classes mean your student gets help the moment they need it and a teacher who actually knows their name.

Do you know a student who can benefit from Tailored Instruction, send this to their parent.

This is what a class looks like when every student has a seat at the table and a teacher who is paying attention. Small by design, steady on purpose. Tag a parent who is thinking about where their student belongs this year.

We are hiring, and we would love to find the right people from right here in our community.

Mahoning Valley Community School has two openings on our team:

Long-Term Substitute Teacher. High school science experience preferred. If you have a background in science and a heart for working with students who thrive on a second chance, we want to hear from you.

Instructional Assistant. Support our teachers and work directly with students in small classes where you get to know every one of them by name.

If you have ever wanted work that actually matters, this is it. Our students are ages 14 to 21, our classes are small, and our staff show up every day for young people who need someone in their corner. You would be joining a team that finishes strong together.

Interested? Send your resume to Dr. Jennifer Merritt at [email protected]

Please share this post with anyone you know who would be a great fit. The right person might be one share away.
