The Mahoning County Board of Elections (MCBOE) will hold a Special Board Meeting of the Members of the Board for the Recount of the May 5, 2026 Primary Election on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the Board room of the MCBOE office, 345 Oak Hill Ave, Youngstown, OH 44502, followed by a Board Building Specification Work Session.

Our office will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.

Today, we pause to remember our dear friend and dedicated board member, Joyce Kale-Pesta.

Although it has been a little over a year since her passing, her presence is still felt before, during and after every election.

Joyce’s dedication to the voters of Mahoning County and to the election process was truly remarkable. She brought kindness, wisdom and compassion to everything she did.

Today, we remember Joyce with gratitude and appreciation for the lasting impact she made on our office, our community, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her legacy lives on through the work that continues each Election.
