The Mahoning Valley Middle East Memorial will be holding a fund raising golf outing. The date is July 20th at Duck Creek, registration begins at 8am with a 10am shotgun start. God Bless our brothers and sisters who served this great country and especially those who gave all. As Veterans we all know the sacrifices made and are familiar with honors and awards given. Unfortunately we have heard of and maybe know Veterans who "embellish" their service although there is no reason to, once you graduate basic and serve your country you're a Veteran.....plain and simple. Any veteran who claims to have been awarded medals WILL HAVE a record on their DD214 of the awards...NO exception. If they claim they misplaced their 214 there IS a record with the U.S. government as we all know. Why someone would misrepresent themselves is a mystery, but when in doubt ask for documentation....no documentation, no award.

This chapter is in trouble thanks to the current treasurer Lisa Calabrette and the Commander Gene Apgar. What a shame.

Congratulations to the organization raising funds to build a Memorial dedicated to the Middle East Veterans on a successful bike run. Great work by several of our members who worked this event all day. Next year we hope to have our board members involved also.
