Our own Gina, Karen, and Alex recently completed train-the-trainer education certifying them as trainers of SAMHSA GAINS Center’s How Being Trauma Informed Improves Criminal Justice Responses. They join Judge Dellick as trainers of this contact.

Mahoning County Juvenile Court staff know that justice includes working to understand what is behind delinquent and criminal behavior and that communities become safer when those issues are identified and treated.

We’re always proud to share Juvenile Court staff’s commitment to our community!!!

Through existing county trauma informed care initiatives, Juvenile Court staff submitted a funding request making this opportunity possible. Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board, and Trumbull County Mental Health & Recovery Board assisted with letters of support and helped identify professionals interested in attending.

As a result, the Mahoning Valley now has 18 justice system professionals trained to deliver this content to other professionals in our region.

Great work!! Awesome collaboration!!!!
