Hi neighbors. Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow night, Jan. 28, is the last night to vote for HOA board members. Please go to the Southlake Plantation website and log in to vote. Thanks
Our annual HOA members meeting will be held on Thursday January 30th, 6:30 PM, at the neighborhood pool.
One thing has become clear over the years - getting a quorum together at the annual meeting for an in-person HOA vote is harder every year. Because of this, we are transitioning to an e-voting system! What better way can there be to help home owners participate in elections, particularly those who might be simply too busy to physically attend the annual meeting?
Voting is now open to all residents and will remain open until January 28th. Only 1 vote per primary address will be allowed.
Cast your vote NOW from your phone or computer by going to our website www.southlakeplantation.com
Please email any questions to [email protected].

This is just a friendly reminder that the Neighborhood Garage Sale will be Saturday, May 4.
Congratulations to tournament winners, Matt Couvillion (largest 3 bream stringer) Cal Grevemverg (largest catfish) and Brad Vidrine (largest bass and top angler). Matt’s stringer weighed in at just over 1 pound, Cal’s catfish was 2.7 lbs and Brad caught a 3.35 lb bass.
Conditions were tough with strong winds and a slow bite, but all had a good time. Overall we caught 3 bass, 6 cats and 25 nice size bream. Because of the weather we cancelled the fish fry but all fish were cleaned and put up for a community fish fry we’re planning for mid May. More details to come but we look to have it with our catfish purge planned for the full moon weekend of May 17th.
Looks like the weather will hold off and let us fish this morning so come out if you’re interested. Bad weather looks to be here this afternoon so we are cancelling the fish fry. Next month we are doing a catfish purge during the full moon so we will plan a community fish fry then.
Bring your catch today to the pavilion at the fire pit area. Weather permitting we will have weigh in and prizes then. Good luck to all. See you out there!!
Plans are in place for our annual fishing tournament Saturday April 13th. Fishing begins at first light and weigh in will be at 2:00. Prizes for adults and kids will be awarded for largest two bass stringer, largest catfish, largest fish overall and largest three bream stringer.
All residents are invited. Non residents are welcome to fish, but must be sponsored by and fish with a resident entrant. After weigh in, the fish will be cleaned and fried up for an afternoon community fish fry. All residents are invited to stop by for food and fellowship. We'll serve as long as it lasts. We'll probably set up and start cooking in the 4-5 pm range. Look forward to seeing everyone there! Let us know if you have any questions.

For the Southlake residents who knew our former neighbor and friend Mr Louis Landry, he has passed away after a long decline in his health. His burial was private and his family celebrated his life at the Bayou Church on Saturday November 10th. Before the Landry’s moved, they could be seen every afternoon riding their yellow golf cart and visiting neighbors. Louis was a dedicated past member of our HOA and gladly helped in any project or duty he could. Sending prayers to his gracious family and thanks for all Louis did while residing in our wonderful subdivision... Mark Hebert
