Youngsville City Councilman Matt Romero grew up in Lafayette where he graduated from Saint Thomas More Catholic High School, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Matt and his family are members of Asbury United Methodist Church, as well as the RCAF Club, Krewe Des Amis of Youngsville, and the Krewe of Bonaparte.
“As one of the fastest growing cities in the south, Youngsville needs qualified leaders working hard for the best interest of its citizens. With rapid growth comes obstacles for our city, and those obstacles require constant attention. I will continue to listen and communicate with each citizen, and give them a voice on our city council."
Romero is a prior Board Member of Cedar Hill Subdivision Home Owners Association;
prior Board Member of the Youngsville Chamber of Commerce; prior Board Member of the Youngsville Sports Recreation Program, Chairman of the city finance committee, current Vice President of the Youngsville Lions Club, youth recreation sports coach, parent volunteer in the local schools, and has membership with several other local organizations.

Matt is employed with Credit Union Acceptance Companies as a Area Sales Manager. His wife Jennifer is a teacher at Southside High School, and they have two children, Carleigh and Owen.
