Youngsville City Councilman Matt Romero grew up in Lafayette where he graduated from Saint Thomas More Catholic High School, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Matt and his family are members of Asbury United Methodist Church, as well as the RCAF Club, Krewe Des Amis of Youngsville, and the Krewe of Bonaparte.

Romero is a prior Board Member of Cedar Hill Subdivision Home Owners Association; prior Board Member of the Youngsville Chamber of Commerce; Board Member of the Youngsville Sports Recreation Program, Board Member of the Youngsville Lions Club, Board Member of Rotary Club of Youngsville, and part of several other local organizations in our community.

Matt is employed with Capital One Auto Finance as a Area Sales Manager. His wife Jennifer is a public school teacher at Southside High School. They have two children, Carleigh and Owen, who attend Ernest Gallet Elementary School. In his spare time Matt enjoys coaching his kids at the Youngsville Sports Recreation Program and supporting the Ragin Cajuns at sporting events. Jennifer and Matt are lifelong Republicans.
