"The EMU Bicycle Rodeo is back! After taking last year off to host a police bicycle training school, the EMU Police Department is glad to bring the Bicycle Rodeo back to the Gervin Center. This FREE event, open to all community members, will have helmets, safety information, free bicycle tune-ups, refreshments, an obstacle course, and much more. Join us Saturday 8/1 from 8am-12pm at the Eastern Michigan University George Gervin Game Above Center, 799 N. Hewitt Road, Ypsilanti MI for a great time!"

Emergency Communication Devices Being Upgraded

Eastern Michigan University is upgrading interior emergency communication devices across campus to improve reliability and align with newer CodeBlue safety technology. As part of the upgrade process, some existing devices may be relocated or retired as newer equipment is installed. In some locations, the upgraded units will be incorporated into centralized emergency response stations alongside resources such as AEDs, Narcan, and Stop the Bleed kits.

“Safety technology continues to evolve, and these upgrades help ensure our emergency communication systems remain effective, reliable, and consistent across campus," said EMU Chief of Police Matt Lige.

Community members should continue to call 911 in an emergency or call EMU DPS directly at 734-487-1222. The Eagle Ready app is also a great source for safety information and resources.
