Fire Department Millage Vote — Tuesday, 8/4/2026
Augusta Charter Township firefighters respond to about 600 emergencies a year, and our department is staffed by paid‑on‑call members who leave work, family time, and sleep to help our community.
On the ballot, you'll see two millage proposals:
Proposal 1: Renews the current 2-mill operating millage that keeps the fire department running.
Proposal 2: Adds 1 mill to replace aging equipment and support scheduled duty shifts so trained firefighters are available during low-availability hours.
The total fire millage would remain 3 mills, the same rate residents have paid for the past decade.
Our firefighters are your neighbors, and these proposals help ensure dependable emergency response as our community grows.
