With rising temperatures, our waterways are becoming more dangerous. The Siskiyou Interagency Rescue group conducted Swift Water Rescue training, refining their expertise to save lives when seconds count.

Swift water incidents are unpredictable and dangerous. That’s why continuous training is critical. We train so we can respond with confidence, teamwork, and precision when our community needs us.

Yesterday, CAL FIRE was proud to join the Grenada Elementary School for their annual Water Day celebration, helping students kick off summer break on the last day of school!

Firefighters cooled things down with water activities, shared fire engines and equipment, and spent time connecting with local students and families. Events like these provide a great opportunity to build relationships within our communities while celebrating the hard work students put in throughout the school year.

Thank you to Grenada Elementary School for the invitation and to all the students, staff, and volunteers who helped make the day a success. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and memorable summer!

Today, CAL FIRE participated in a border training exercise alongside multiple fire agencies from California and Oregon, focusing on coordinated response efforts for incidents occurring along the California–Oregon border.

This valuable training highlighted the importance of teamwork, communication, and interagency coordination. Each participating organization brings unique skills, equipment, and capabilities, and by training together, responders strengthen relationships, improve operational effectiveness, and enhance their ability to work seamlessly during real-world emergencies.

These partnerships are critical when every second counts. Through collaboration and shared expertise, we can provide the safest and most effective response possible to the communities we serve.

Together, we are stronger, better prepared, and ready to answer the call when our communities need us most. We also want to say a huge Thank you to Jim Cizzen, Steve Avgeris and FWS Forestry.
