Today we officially pinned Aaron Chamberlain as Captain with the Yuba City Fire Department.
Promotion to Captain represents years of hard work, dedication, leadership, and a continued commitment to serving our community. In his new role, Captain Chamberlain will take on greater responsibility in leading and mentoring our crews while continuing to uphold the values and traditions of Yuba City Fire.

Two separate calls. Two separate storm drains. Two kittens rescued, all in one day!
Engine 1 responded to two separate kitten-in-a-storm-drain calls today.
We’re not sure what kind of feline shenanigans are happening in the neighborhood, but Engine 1 is now 2-for-2 on cats and drains.
Just another day at the firehouse!

Surrounded by family, friends, and fellow firefighters, Firefighter Chloe Mayer officially received her Yuba City Fire Department badge, a milestone that reflects her dedication to community safety and inspires pride among residents.
Receiving the Yuba City Fire badge represents more than a ceremony, it symbolizes a commitment to serving our community with courage, compassion, integrity, and professionalism. It is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and perseverance required to earn the privilege of wearing the Yuba City Fire badge.
Congratulations, Firefighter Chloe Mayer, on this well-deserved achievement. We are proud to have you as part of the Yuba City Fire family and look forward to watching you grow throughout your career.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of retired Yuba City Fire Department Fire Apparatus Operator Anthony “Tony” Divita.

Tony joined YCFD in September 1974 and served our community until his retirement in December 2004. Affectionately known as “Pa” and “Nozzle,” Tony was a dedicated firefighter who could always make those around him laugh.

He will be especially remembered for his passion for teaching children about fire and life safety. His commitment to education made a lasting impact on generations of children and families throughout our community.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Tony’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

You will be deeply missed, “Nozzle.”

Today, two of our probationary firefighters completed their Firefighter I skills testing.

These evaluations mark another important milestone in their training as they continue earning the knowledge and skills required to serve our community. Great work, and good luck on the remainder of your testing.

Today, Engine 2 had the opportunity to visit New Adventures Preschool for a morning of fire safety and fun!

These classroom visits are about much more than showing off the fire engine. They give our crews the opportunity to teach children important fire safety lessons in a fun, hands-on way that they’ll remember for years to come.

A big thank you to the staff at New Adventures Preschool and everyone involved for welcoming us into your classroom. We always enjoy connecting with our community and helping our youngest residents learn how to stay safe! 🚒🔥
