Meet Brittany Sheahan, one of our incredible CASA volunteers. 🌟

Growing up, Brittany had friends in foster care and saw the challenges they faced aging out of the system. She started as a CASA in San Diego and joined our program after moving to Plumas Lake.

Her kids confide in her in ways they don't with other adults, and she shows up for them. She rarely misses a school play, discovers new music through their Spotify picks, and once watched a youth spend 30 focused minutes on a cookie decorating kit before proudly posting the results online.

Off the clock, Brittany is a Biologist for the FDA who spends weekends on trail walks with her rescue Great Pyrenees, Luna.

Thank you, Brittany, for the steady, thoughtful care you bring to every kid on your case. 💙

Big things are happening at 410 J Street in Marysville!

The Salvation Army Yuba Sutter is excited to officially announce the transformation of our former Depot Family Crisis Center Administrative Offices into a new Family Services Center — made possible through the generous support of a capital grant from Partnership HealthPlan of California.

Construction is now underway, with an anticipated opening in mid-July 2026.

Once completed, the Family Services Center will serve as a hub of hope and practical support for our community by offering:

• Navigation Assistance
• Homelessness Prevention Assistance
• Housing Tenancy Support
• Emergency Food Boxes
• Enhanced Care Management (ECM)
• A Community Conference Room for collaboration and service coordination

We are deeply grateful to Partnership HealthPlan of California for investing in the wellbeing of Yuba-Sutter families and helping make this vision a reality.

This project represents more than a building remodel, it represents a continued commitment to walking alongside individuals and families with dignity, compassion, and practical support.

Please keep this project in your prayers as construction continues over the coming weeks. We look forward to welcoming the community into this new space very soon.

Substance Abuse Counseling

Recovery is possible with the right support. In 2025, thanks to CSBG funding provided by Yuba County Community Services Commission, 13 individuals were able to access substance abuse counseling services and take meaningful steps toward recovery.
