Naloxone is something every family should consider having at home, just like a first aid kit or fire extinguisher.

Accidental opioid exposure can happen to anyone, from children getting into medication to a loved one taking the wrong dose or having an unexpected reaction to pain medication. Having naloxone on hand gives families the ability to respond quickly in an emergency while help is on the way.

You never know when it could save a life.

Naloxone is a simple, life-saving tool that more families are choosing to keep on hand in case of an emergency.

Learning the facts about how and when it can be used helps people feel more prepared and confident to respond when every second matters.

Drowning can happen in seconds, even when you’re not swimming.

Did you know that 70% of drownings among young children happen during non-swim times? That means water safety is not just about watching the pool. It is also about helping make sure children cannot reach the water without an adult.

Children are naturally curious, quick, and impulsive. That is why layers of protection are key:
🛟 Four-sided fencing with a self-closing and self-latching gate can help prevent unsupervised access to water.
🛟 Doors, windows, gates, and even doggie doors that lead to a pool area should be secured or alarmed.
🛟 A designated Water Watcher should always be assigned when children are in or near water.

You cannot always have eyes on them every second, but you can take steps to make your home safer.

🚨 Have you seen smoke and wondered if you should report it? 🚨

Controlled burns are permitted and conducted on approved burn days through Rural Metro Fire Department’s Burn Permit Process.

Rural Metro issues burn permits for residents in the unincorporated areas of Yuma County, helping ensure burns are conducted safely and under the right conditions.

🔥 Want to obtain a burn permit?
Call Rural Metro Fire Department at 928-782-4757, visit the Fire Administration Office at 2029 South Arizona Avenue, or visit us online at www.yumacountyfire.org

⚠️ Concerned a burn may be unsafe?
If a fire appears to be getting out of hand, has been left smoldering, or is taking place on a non-burn day, contact the Rural Metro 24/7 Dispatch Center immediately at 928-783-1805.

Staying informed and reporting concerns helps protect our community, neighbors, and first responders.
