PFC James D. Price Elementary School We are a YSD1 K–5 public school located and proud to serve the Yuma Proving Grounds (YPG) community. PFC James D. They do not keep records of counseling.

Price Elementary School is a K-5 public school located at the Yuma Proving Grounds (YPG), a military testing installation about 25 miles outside the city of Yuma, AZ. Price is not a Department of Defense (DOD) school. We are a public school through Yuma School District One. We work collaboratively with the command and community at YPG to provide a robust academic and social-emotional education for

children that live at YPG, those that have parents commuting to work at YPG, and children that live in close proximity to the base. We proudly salute our military families and provide a welcoming, supportive learning environment for military students. Families are invited to contact us to schedule a tour or learn more about the great programs available at our mighty little school. A military life counselor is assigned to our school, funded by the Department of Defense. With parent permission, they provide free, confidential individual and group counseling to children and families to address the impacts of military life. They also provide education and coaching to teachers and staff. Additional information about the military and family life counselor program is available online. To contact a military family life counselor, please call the school office at (928) 502-7730. We Purple Up! Every year, Price Elementary is proud to “Purple Up” in support of military children. Enroll today! We make registration easy! Online registration is now available, or you may complete the paperwork at the school office. Parents are invited to visit the Yuma School District One website at www.yuma.org for more information, download forms, or register online.

Our End of Year Dance Party was a HUGE success! The kiddos danced and boogied to the beats of Kids Bop after enjoying a pizza lunch that was generously donated by Housing (Desert Oasis Communities, A Michaels Community). Today, James D. Price Elementary students had a wonderful time attending the Yuma Proving Ground Month of the Military Child Wrap Up Carnival! They enjoyed treats, games, face painting, and many other fun activities.

A big thank you to Yuma Proving Ground Family and MWR, Yuma Proving Ground CYS, & Yuma Proving Ground for inviting Price to be part of such a special event. Our students truly had a blast!

Eagle Families
A new month means a new character trait! Now that we are back from spring break, our character trait of the month is courage!

Courage is all about being brave, even when something feels difficult or a little scary. It means trying your best, speaking up, and doing the right thing—even when it’s not easy. These are important skills that help students grow in confidence and believe in themselves.

A big shoutout to Dakota, Elise, Angelo, and William for being recognized for showing courage!

Thank you for taking risks, trying new things, and showing strength in and out of the classroom. Your bravery and determination make a difference on our campus every day.

April is Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Month—a time to come together as a community to support and protect our children. The blue pinwheel serves as the national symbol of child abuse prevention, representing the happy, healthy childhood every child deserves.

Join us at Price Elementary School as we partner with Child & Youth Services and families across the YPG community to plant pinwheels—each one a powerful reminder of our shared commitment to creating safe, nurturing environments for all children.

Eagle Families,

A new month is here, which means it’s time to introduce our new Character Trait of the Month: HONESTY!

Honesty means telling the truth, being trustworthy, and making the right choices, even when no one is watching. Throughout the month, our Eagles will be learning how honesty helps build strong friendships, trust, and a positive school community.

This week, we are proud to recognize students who have already shown HONESTY through their words and actions:

Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade students who represented Price in the Yuma School District One Soccer Tournament today! They did an amazing job, and we are SO proud of each and every one of them!

A huge thank you to our incredible coaches, Miss Maggie and Mr. Clayton, and to Ms. Torres for guiding, supporting, and cheering on our team.

We also appreciate all the parents who came to the tournament to support our kiddos. We are grateful for all of you! Go Eagles!!
