Here is your yearly reminder to use extra caution and take an extra few seconds at rural intersections surrounded by corn. As the corn gets taller, the dangers of accidents at these intersections dramatically increase. You can’t see what’s coming, and what’s coming can’t see you. Stay diligent, and stay safe!

🛴 🚴‍♀️ Recently, we had the opportunity to educate K–6th grade students at our elementary school on safe scooter and bicycle operation. We were also fortunate to provide helmets for students to check out and take home if they did not already have one that properly fit.

We have seen one too many close calls in our community, and we hope the children in our community now have both the knowledge and equipment needed to safely enjoy all their wheels this summer!

A special thank you to Children's Nebraska Injury Prevention Program for their continued partnership and for providing helmets for our students, and to Yutan Public Schools for prioritizing student safety!
