To all of my Facebook friends (including those I have not yet met)
I post today to announce that later this week I will qualify and begin my campaign to be elected as the Judge for Division C of the Family Court of East Baton Rouge Parish.
Early voting: Tue. Oct. 20 - Tue. Oct. 27
Election day: Tue. Nov. 3
Runoff (if needed): Sat. Dec. 12
As many of you know, I have served (my community and my country) in some capacity my entire adult life.
Be it by:
1. serving as a non-commissioned officer in the world's finest Navy;
2. teaching and coaching in one of Louisiana's finest school systems;
3. representing moms, dads and grandparents through the worst imaginable experiences of their lives (divorce and custody disputes); or
4. Helping to safeguard my community by serving as the Prosecutor and Hearing Officer for the City of Zachary.
Anyone who has been paying attention to the news lately, can tell you that The Family Court has received a ton of "bad press" lately (some of it maybe deserved). Let me just say that ALL PEOPLE (no matter where you live, how you earn a living, or who your attorney is) deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I pledge to show that dignity and respect to ALL who come before me.
However, I cannot possibly do this alone. I need every single one of you to help me in this campaign.
I'm asking those of you who know me personally, to reach out to anyone (at least 10 people) you know in East Baton Rouge parish and tell them the kind of person you know me to be. Tell them that I will show up for work AND do the work, tell them that I will NEVER allow politics or other improper considerations to color my decisions, and (most imortantly), please tell them I am a good man, father and husband who will ALWAYS be humbled and honored to serve as your Judge.
God Bless,
L.T. "Bubba" Dupré
