Student-athletes are increasingly being targeted by online sextortion and other cyber-enabled crimes.

The NCAA is assisting the FBI in expanding prevention education, reporting tools, and support for student-athletes. This is an important reminder for students, families, coaches, athletic departments, and school staff: sextortion can happen to anyone, and the person being targeted is never to blame.

Please talk with young people about online safety and remind them:

🔹 Do not send money or additional images.
🔹 Perpetrators do not discrimanate: any child is in danger, regardless of age, race, gender.
🔹 Save messages and other evidence when it is safe to do so.
🔹 Tell a trusted adult and report the situation.
🔹 Help is available.ou are not alone.

We’re tagging our local schools because awareness and early conversations can help protect students throughout our communities. Please share this information with your families, coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
