Yesterday, a FEMA advance team visited Muskingum County to conduct preliminary damage assessments and review areas impacted by the recent flooding and severe weather.

County Commissioners, Congressman Troy Balderson, Muskingum County EMA, and Ohio EMA were also present to meet with the FEMA team, discuss the extent of the damage, and identify potential resources and assistance for those affected.

These assessments provide officials with a clearer picture of the damage and help determine what additional assistance may be available. If your property was damaged, please take photos and keep records of all losses, repairs, and cleanup expenses.

We will continue working with our local, state, and federal partners and share updates as more information becomes available.

REOPEN: Both directions of I-70 at SR 79 in Licking County have reopened to traffic. Please check OHGO.com for other traffic impacts. Thank you for your patience.

LICKING CO: I-70 is now closed in BOTH directions at SR 79. The detour for eastbound I-70 is SR 158 to US 40 to SR 13 to I-70. The detour for westbound I-70 is US 40 at Gratiot to SR 310 to I-70. Check OHGO.com for updated travel information. Be sure to follow Ohio Department of Transportation East Central Ohio District 5 for the latest updates on this closure.
