Had a wonderful time spending time with the congregation at Beavers Chapel playing BINGO with some of the amazing seniors in our community. Pastor Reginald High and the entire church family did an incredible job hosting such a joyful and welcoming gathering.

One of the best parts of the evening was hearing the laughter, seeing the smiles, and enjoying the heartfelt conversations shared throughout the room. Moments like these remind us how important community, fellowship, and connection truly are.

Thank you to everyone at Beavers Chapel for your hospitality and for continuing to pour into the lives of our seniors and community members. It was truly a blessing to be part of such a special time together.

I woke this morning with a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community of Zebulon. A very special gentleman came to mind …someone who helped pave the way for me to sit in this seat and serve our community: Mr. Bennie.

Growing up, watching Mr. Bennie work for the Town of Zebulon was truly inspiring. He carried out his job with pride, dedication, and excellence every single day. More importantly, while serving the community through his work, he also became a positive influence to so many people around him.

People like Mr. Bennie may not always seek recognition, but their impact leaves a lasting mark on a community. His hard work, commitment, and example helped shape the Zebulon we know today.

I’m sure he is enjoying his retirement, and it has been great running into him around town spending time with some of his family members. Seeing him able to enjoy this chapter of life is a blessing and well deserved after so many years of dedicated service.

I personally want to take a moment to say thank you, Mr. Bennie, for your years of dedication and service to the community. Your work mattered, your presence mattered, and your influence continues to inspire others like myself to serve with pride and purpose.

What an amazing weekend spent doing what I enjoy most…being out in the community and supporting the people who make Zebulon so special.

I had the opportunity to attend the incredible Car Show sponsored by UNIVERSAL CHEVROLET in Zebulon, NC. It was great seeing so many families, car enthusiasts, and community members come together for a fun-filled event.

I also had the honor of volunteering at the track meet with Crazy Running Track Club alongside Ms. Bri, who is doing absolutely amazing work with our youth in the community. Seeing so many families travel to a neighboring town for a track meet while Zebulon works toward having our own track was truly impressive. Most importantly, the kids had an absolute blast, and their energy and determination were inspiring to watch.

To top off the weekend, I even had the chance to dust off my photography skills and capture some special prom memories for Nigel and his prom date. Moments like those remind me how important it is to celebrate our young people and support them during these milestone moments in life.

Weekends like this remind me why community matters so much. Thank you to everyone who continues working to make Zebulon a place filled with connection, opportunity, and heart.

A few days ago, I had the honor of being invited by an amazing young man, Nigel, to assist him with shopping for his senior prom tuxedo. We chose to shop at K&G Fashion Superstore, and the customer service provided truly made the experience enjoyable and memorable for both of us.

Nigel is an outstanding senior at East Wake High School who has committed to joining the United States Marine Corps after graduation. As a fellow Marine, it was especially meaningful to spend this time with a young man who is preparing to begin such an important journey of service. His character, respect, and determination speak volumes about the bright future ahead of him.

Nigel is truly destined for greatness, and I want to personally thank him for the opportunity and for trusting me to be part of such a special milestone in his life. Moments like these remind me how important mentorship, encouragement, and community support are for our young people.

Wishing Nigel an unforgettable prom night and continued success as he prepares for the next chapter of his journey. Semper Fi!

Today was a powerful reminder of what makes our community so special.

I had the honor of attending the National Day of Prayer Service at Shepherd’s Way Christian Church, where members of our community gathered together in faith, unity, and hope for our nation, our town, and one another. It was especially meaningful to stand alongside our Police Department, Fire Department, local leaders, and citizens in prayer for protection, wisdom, and continued strength for Zebulon.

I was also grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the incredible students at Zebulon Gifted & Talented Magnet Middle School during Cougar FutureFest: Pathways, Professions & Possibilities. Mayor Jessica joined me at the event, and it was wonderful to see our local leadership engaging directly with students as they explored future careers, colleges, and opportunities. Hearing the students share their dreams and ambitions was truly inspiring.

What made today even more special was seeing the wide range of people who showed up to support and connect … from local barbershop owners to funeral directors, educators, first responders, pastors, business leaders, and neighbors from every walk of life. That is what community looks like.

Zebulon continues to show that when we come together with purpose, compassion, and unity, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.

Thank you to everyone who organized, participated, and poured into our community today. Proud to serve a town that believes in faith, connection, and investing in the next generation.
