As I sit in isolation thanks to a global pandemic, I've been afforded LOTS of time to think. I can't come to any conclusion other than our society is plain broken. This isn't to say that every PERSON is broken, we've had so many examples of people going above and beyond in this crisis. And I tip my hat to them. Millions of others would do the same if they had the skill set or opportunity, I'm sure. When the f***l matter hits the rotary air movement device, people always show their willingness to help others. I'm thankful for this, it gives me hope in an otherwise bleak situation.
No, our people aren't the problem. Well they are, at least partially, but we'll get tot hat in a bit. Our problem is our systems. They are broken. I would hope that everyone watching this pandemic unfold, who isn't an elected or hired government official, would agree with that. It is based simply on FACT. This page is designed to deal a lot on facts. Not someone's interpretation of facts, no right wing OR left wing mumbo jumbo. Simple facts. Like this: we were unprepared for this pandemic. That is a fact. Knowing it, we MUST improve our systems so that WHEN something like this occurs again, we will be more prepared. That sounds so simple, doesn't it? But because we as a people have allowed another fact to take place, things aren't that simple. Even is they should be, and CAN be. That other fact: our system of government is broken. That is also a fact. At the heart of our goal, we feel that we need to educate, initiate discussion, provide facts that will help each American to realize that we can, and indeed should, take back the control of our government. After all, it is supposed to be BY the People, FOR the PEOPLE, right? Regardless of any individual's particular beliefs, I'm thinking 98% of the American population would agree that our current system of government is NOT by the people, for the people. So that is what needs to change. And the American people are the only ones who have the power to make that change. Through their phone calls to Congresspeople, Representatives, The White House; through their votes, during elections; through their willingness to learn and teach themselves. This is grass roots at its most basic definition. So lets start this process, and see where we end up.
