Zeeland Police Department

Our department provides police services to the citizens and visitors of the City of Zeeland Michigan. The department is overseen by the Chief of Police.

Our department is an MACP Accredited Agency that provides police services such as patrol, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, school resources and safety to the City of Zeeland 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We currently have 11 sworn officers, 4 reserves officers and 2 civilian employees.

National Night Out 2026!

Please join us on Tuesday, August 4th, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Elm St. near the Splash Pad in Downtown Zeeland.

There will be Root Beer Floats, Firetrucks, Police Cars, and More! Also, there is a chance to dunk your favorite public safety officials in the dunk tank!

We can't wait to see you there!

It is with heavy hearts that the Zeeland Police Department mourns the passing of City Manager Tim Klunder.

For more than 25 years, Tim served the City of Zeeland with integrity, humility, and unwavering dedication. His leadership and steadfast support of the Zeeland Police Department helped strengthen our ability to serve this community and will leave a lasting impact on our city.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim’s family, friends, and all City of Zeeland employees during this difficult time.

Thank you for your faithful service and leadership, Tim. Your legacy will live on, and you will be deeply missed.

On Monday, members of the Zeeland Police Department gathered alongside our law enforcement partners to honor the life and sacrifice of Officer Marshall William Glerum.

On July 16, 1933, Officer Glerum gave his life in the line of duty while serving the City of Zeeland. Ninety-three years later, his courage, dedication, and ultimate sacrifice are not forgotten.

We are grateful to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office - Michigan, our regional law enforcement partners, and everyone who joined us in paying tribute to one of Zeeland’s own.

Congratulations, Sgt. Brian Breuker!

The Zeeland Police Department would like to congratulate Sgt. Brian Breuker on his graduation today from the Eastern Michigan University School of Police Staff and Command.

The School of Police Staff and Command is an advanced leadership and management program for law enforcement professionals. The program focuses on preparing for command-level responsibilities through training in areas such as leadership development, planning and decision-making, human resources, police administration, and critical incident response.

This is a significant accomplishment that reflects Sgt. Breuker’s dedication to professional growth, leadership, and continued service to the Zeeland community.

🇺🇸📣As we embark on this Memorial Day weekend, we cordially invite you to join us in paying tribute downtown Zeeland for Zeeland's Memorial Day Parade at 9am, as together we proudly honor the brave men and women who have served.

🇺🇸The parade route has been altered this year due to construction. Please be mindful of the tighter viewing areas and watch those little ones. Safety is our top priority!

Administrative Professionals Day gives us the opportunity to recognize the people who keep the Zeeland Police Department running behind the scenes.

Our administrative staff handles the work that often goes unseen, managing records, supporting officers, coordinating communication, and keeping daily operations organized and efficient. Their attention to detail and consistency are critical to everything we do.

While much of their work happens out of the public eye, it directly impacts our ability to serve the community.

Today, we thank them for their professionalism, dedication, and the countless things they do every day that make a difference.
