Restoration work continues in Rabe Meadow. Old irrigation ditches are being filled to expand riparian health and a flooded portion of the Lam Watah Trail will be rerouted to prevent resource damage.

⚠️Public Safety Message⚠️

The final phase of the Burke Creek Restoration Project work is underway at Rabe Meadow. For public safety when work is taking place, access to some areas may be temporarily disrupted. Visitors are reminded to be aware of restoration activity and keep a safe distance from large equipment and work areas.

Currently, Rabe Meadow visitors can expect to see piles of fill dirt, crews working in coordination with large equipment to backfill and decommission man-made ditches, and a temporary access road. Ditch-filling work and decommissioning of the temporary road is expected to conclude by the end of next week, July 31, 2026.

Then in late August/early September, work will begin to reroute a section of the Lam Watah Trail to alleviate seasonal flooding.
