New baby peas have arrived! 🐣 Mama just brought them into the flock and the pecking order is being totally reestablished—chaos in full swing! 😅You’ll spot the older chicks near the end. These peafowl aren’t ours, but they’ve made themselves right at home. 💚✨

This peahen and her chicks don’t belong to us, but like so many other wild neighbors, they seek refuge here—safe from the growing sprawl and noise of overdevelopment surrounding us. Grateful to offer them a little peace. 🦚💚

The eastern tiger swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) is a large, colorful butterfly native to North America.
It's found east of the Rocky Mountains, from Alaska and southern Ontario, Canada, down to the Gulf Coast and northern Mexico. It is one of the larger North American butterflies. Males are yellow with black stripes, while some females are black. Behavior: Solitary by nature, males patrol for mates.

The Southern black racer (Coluber constrictor priapus) is a non-venomous snake native to Florida and the Florida Keys.

The southern black racer is an opportunistic carnivore with a diet that includes a wide variety of small animals. They are known to consume rodents, lizards, frogs, insects, birds, eggs, and even other snakes.

The zebra longwing butterfly (Heliconius charithonia). It is the state butterfly of Florida. The species is distributed across South and Central America and as far north as southern Texas and peninsular Florida; there are migrations north into other American states in the warmer months.
