Zillah School District #205 The Zillah School District is a small rural district of approximately 1250 students, housed in four buildings in the mid-Yakima Valley.

Education is the foundation for a successful life. All children can learn and achieve academic success. School facilities must be safe, healthy and clean. Parents must be involved and engaged in their child’s education. District employees must be professional, caring and flexible. Children need to be exposed to and involved in a variety of educational opportunities. Community involvement and support is imperative for successful schools.

The start of the school year can be challenging for some families. One thing about our community is that we come together to help each other. In support of an ongoing scout project, the district will have donation boxes at each school starting Monday, August 31st, through September 4th. If you are fortunate enough to donate needed items, it will help some of our students feel more welcome and healthier, so they can be the best learners possible.

The ZSD had a great all-staff in-service with the help of leadership consultant Randy Russell and all of the Zillah leadership team. We had some fun, welcomed new staff, and established our focus for the year to make it the best year yet! We’re excited for the 2026-2027 school year.

With two days to go until the first day of school, we were lucky enough to run into Spotty the Leopard Mascot at ZHS. We took advantage of this opportunity to get to know our Mascot a little better. Thanks, Spotty!!

1. Getting back on a sleep schedule - adjusting bedtimes to help with early mornings.
2. Practice routines - before and after school routines will help reduce stress.
3. Talk positively about school - build excitement by discussing aspects to look forward to, reconnecting with friends, meeting teachers, and learning new things.
