Domestic violence does not only impact those experiencing abuse. Its effects reach children, loved ones, neighbors, first responders, and entire communities. The tragic events in Sandy, Utah, serve as a painful reminder that domestic violence is a community issue with far-reaching consequences. Preventing violence and supporting survivors helps create safer communities for everyone.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆! 🐾

We are ending our Mental Health Awareness Month with a look back at a very special visit from a few weeks ago!

Our facility dog, Eddie, and his handler headed over to our Youth Prevention Department at A Safe Place to spend some time with the kids in their after-school program. While Eddie did what he does best—bringing instant smiles and a comforting presence to the room—his handler gave a wonderful presentation on the incredible power of the human-animal bond and how closely it connects to mental health and wellness.

Seeing the youth connect with Eddie was a beautiful reminder of why these visits matter so much. Dogs truly have a unique way of helping people lower their guards, decompress, and feel supported.

A huge thank you to Canines 4 Comfort without you we wouldn't have Eddie!
