Learning Through Literacy kicked off Tuesday evening at the Zion-Benton Public Library, beginning a three-month book study centered on The Gratitude Express.

Through shared reading and engaging activities, students explored gratitude, mindfulness, kindness, and leadership while building connections through literacy. The program gave students a chance to reflect on these values and discover how to put them into practice in their daily lives.

ZESD 6 educators participated in personalized professional development designed to support their roles and strengthen student learning across the district.

Pre-K teachers and paraprofessionals attended a Behavioral Strategies and Inclusion session led by Board Certified Behavior Analyst Anita D’Abbraccio. The training provided an opportunity to build knowledge and strengthen strategies for supporting students’ diverse behavioral and learning needs.

Candidates for the office of school board can begin to circulate nominating petitions for signatures beginning August 25, 2026, through November 23, 2026. The period for filing nominating papers runs from November 16, 2026, through November 23, 2026.
