Please see the attached informational release, as well as two contributed photos from the scene, regarding a residential structural collapse incident that occurred earlier yesterday afternoon – March 21, 2026. For the privacy of the family involved, we are only sharing photos of examples of the valuable work our crews & Mutual Aid partners conducted on the scene. We thank the many crews and agencies that assisted with this scene; it's important to note that partnerships with MABAS and the Lake County Fire Chiefs Specialized Response Teams allow for scenes like this to be mitigated safely and efficiently and virtually no suburban fire department could handle this alone. We wish for a quick repair so the residents can return to their home as soon as possible.

We hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this stretch of frigid winter weather! Here are a few warming center options in case you find yourself without heat. And as Mayor McKinney mentions at many City Council meetings, if you are in need of assistance (with this or many other matters), the United Way 2-1-1 phone line may be able to help!
