Clinton Bohm for Whitestown

Clinton Bohm for Whitestown Howdy, I'm Clinton Bohm, former Whitestown Town Council President and life long Hoosier.

02/01/2023

Earlier this week, I began sharing my decision on the current town council election for Whitestown. After much contemplation, prayer, and family discussion; I am withdrawing from the ballot. Since I announced my intentions to run for re-election in December, our family situation has changed in a way that makes serving another term untenable. I will always be a father first, so that will be my focus moving forward. As I have shared privately and will share publicly now, my intention is to withdrawal by the end of the week. Thank you to all that expressed support for what we have accomplished so far and what the bright future for Whitestown can be moving forward.

Today I officially filed to run for re-election as the representative for District Two on the Whitestown Town Council. I can’t help but think about those that helped me to get here. One of those we lost just last year. Jackie Walorski was a mentor to me and always encouraged me to get involved. She talked with me about how I needed to be an active citizen if I wanted to make meaning change. Often times that means stepping forward and serving in public office. She always lead by example and inspired others, including myself, to do the same.

I appreciate the opportunity the resident of Whitestown have given me to serve on the council. I look forward to the election process so that I can ask the residents for the opportunity to continue that service. I will continue to do my best to emulate Jackie Walorski as she was a great leader and left such a great legacy.

Whitestown Council President Clinton Bohm Announces Candidacy for Whitestown Town Council

WHITESTOWN, IN – Current Whitestown Town Council President and former Worth Township Trustee Clinton Bohm, announced today that he will be running to continue to represent the second district on the Whitestown Town Council. The second district is located on the northeast side of Whitestown and includes the Heritage, Harvest Park, Bridle Oaks, Clark Manors, and the southern portions of Walker Farms. Bohm will be entering into the final year of his second term in 2023.

“After prayerful consideration and discussions with my wife, Anne, I have decided that there is still more work to be done in service to the members of our community,” said Bohm. “Whitestown is my home and I want to continue to give back to this great community.”

Bohm has served two consecutive terms on the Whitestown Town Council. During that time, he has served on the Redevelopment Commission, the Fire Board, and the Comprehensive Plan Update Commission. He will complete his fourth consecutive year as President of the Town Council at the end of 2022. Bohm has worked closely with other members of the council, town administrative staff, and the public safety teams to improve infrastructure, expand greenspace, and enhance public safety while protecting taxpayers through carefully planned economic development and responsible growth.

“As a council, we have focused on making sure that our public safety equipment and facilities, water and wastewater infrastructure, roads, green space, and sidewalks were significantly improved,” said Bohm. “Should the residents of the second district allow me the opportunity to serve again, I will continue to apply my guiding principles of fiscal responsibility, access to opportunities for all residents of the town, and decision making with an eye to the future. I will push to continue to reduce our tax rates, keep our utility rates frozen, and further improve our fiscal position. There is still work to do! There are a multitude of opportunities to keep Whitestown rising and solidify our growing reputation for being one of the best towns in Indiana to live, work, and raise a family.”

I was honored to give some breif remarks at the opening ceremonies for the Little League baseball Central Region tournaments. I am excited to have the Great Lakes and Midwest tournaments happening here this next week. The softball tournament was a great success last month, but due to severe weather there were no opening ceremonies. Thank you to Little League International for your great partnership. Thank you to the parents, coaches, umpires and volunteers for making the event such a success. Good luck to all the team members these next few day and congratulations on being state champions!
