Veterans for Indiana mourns the tragic deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. As a nation founded on the Constitution and the rule of law, moments like this demand reflection, accountability, and recommitment to our core principles.
Our Constitution is not symbolic. It is the foundation of our rights, our freedoms, and our shared responsibility to one another. If we fail to uphold it, we risk losing the very structure that binds us as a nation.
Our hearts are with the families of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, and with the Minneapolis community as they grieve these profound losses. We encourage space for mourning, compassion for those affected, and unity in support of one another during this painful time.
But grief must also strengthen our resolve. As Veterans, we have sworn to defend the Constitution and the values it represents. We must use this moment to stand for justice, accountability, and the protection of human life. We cannot allow violence and disregard for constitutional principles to become normalized.
We owe it to those we have lost, to those who serve, and to future generations to fight for the good and to ensure this does not continue.
