The Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal Hosts Inter-Regional Forum on Posts, Customs, Security and Business in San Salvador
San Salvador, El Salvador – June 9, 2026

The Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (PUASP) today opened the Inter-Regional Forum on Posts, Customs, Security and Business in San Salvador, El Salvador. The forum, which runs from June 9 –11, 2026, brings together representatives of postal administrations, customs authorities, security agencies, international organizations, to discuss issues critical to the future of trade, logistics, and postal services.
The forum provides an important platform for dialogue and cooperation among key stakeholders involved in the movement of goods, information, and services across borders. Over the next three dayss, participants will examine opportunities to strengthen collaboration, improve operational efficiency, enhance security measures, and facilitate international trade.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is being represented by Director of Postal Services: June Jacqueline Adams Ollivierre and Deputy Comptroller of Customs and Excise: Leanna James.

Discussions will focus on a range of topics, including postal modernization, digital transformation, e-commerce growth, customs integration, supply chain security, risk management, and the role of postal operators in supporting economic development and regional connectivity.
The event underscores the commitment of the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal to promoting cooperation among member countries and fostering innovative solutions to the challenges facing the postal and logistics sectors in an increasingly interconnected world.
According to the Director, " SVG Post collaboraates very well with the local Customs and Excise department and this opportunity which has been afforded to two senior officers of both entities will aid in identifying practical strategies that will further enhance service delivery, support secure and efficient trade, and contribute to sustainable revenue generation for both organizations"

POSITION SUMMARY

The SVG Postal Corporation, established on October 1, 2003, is the official postal administration of St Vincent and the Grenadines. As the Corporation continues its transformation into a modern, customer focused, technology enabled, resilient, commercially minded, and financially sustainable organisation, it seeks to recruit a dynamic, innovative, creative, and results driven professional capable of helping to modernize and reposition the Corporation in response to changing consumer expectations, technological disruption, evolving logistics systems, digital commerce, and the growing demands of a rapidly changing and digitally connected world.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in improving operational efficiency, strengthening customer service delivery, supporting digital transformation initiatives, expanding commercial opportunities, and assisting with the modernization and strategic development of postal, logistics, retail, financial, and customer support services throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee and assist with the efficient receipt, processing, transportation, distribution, and delivery of postal articles, parcels, courier items, and related services throughout the General Post Office, district post offices, and other designated outlets.
2. Supervise the dispatch, receipt, handling, and security of domestic and international mail exchanges in accordance with established postal regulations, operational procedures, and international postal standards.
3. Develop, implement, monitor, and continuously improve operational systems, procedures, and service standards aimed at enhancing efficiency, accountability, teamwork, productivity, operational resilience, and customer satisfaction.
4. Assist with the modernization and digital transformation of postal operations, including the implementation of technology driven systems, tracking solutions, electronic services, digital reporting mechanisms, data management systems, customer support technologies, and operational automation initiatives.
5. Lead and support initiatives aimed at improving customer service delivery, strengthening public confidence, and enhancing the overall image, effectiveness, and relevance of the Corporation.
6. Assist in identifying, developing, and expanding new revenue streams and commercial opportunities including logistics services, courier operations, e commerce support systems, digital commerce facilitation, remittance and payment solutions, retail services, agency services, parcel delivery systems, and other innovative postal products and services.
7. Support the development and ex*****on of marketing, promotional, branding, communications, and public engagement initiatives designed to increase awareness, utilization, and public confidence in the Corporation’s services.
8. Promote teamwork, collaboration, professionalism, accountability, innovation, adaptability, and effective communication across all operational and administrative units of the Corporation.
9. Work collaboratively with management, employees, government agencies, private sector entities, regional and international postal organizations, customers, and other stakeholders to improve service delivery and achieve organizational objectives.
10. Assist with the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets, operational plans, performance targets, strategic initiatives, modernization programmes, and organizational development activities.
11. Supervise, mentor, motivate, and support operational and administrative staff while fostering a positive, innovative, disciplined, customer focused, and productive working environment.
12. Assist with organizational development initiatives associated with the Corporation’s continued evolution as a modern statutory entity capable of responding to changing national, regional, and international realities.
13. Ensure the proper security, handling, safeguarding, and accountability of postal articles, financial instruments, operational assets, records, digital systems, and confidential information.
14. Monitor operational performance and prepare reports, analyses, recommendations, and strategic proposals aimed at improving efficiency, service quality, innovation, operational effectiveness, customer experience, and revenue generation.
15. Coordinate and assist with staff training and development programmes designed to strengthen operational capacity, leadership, teamwork, technological adaptability, organizational performance, and customer service standards throughout the Corporation.
16. Represent the Corporation professionally at meetings, consultations, conferences, training programmes, public engagements, and other activities as may be required.
17. Perform such other duties as may be assigned in furtherance of the objectives, modernization, transformation, and strategic direction of the SVG Postal Corporation.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

* A degree or professional qualification in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Marketing, Logistics, Public Administration, Information Systems, Commerce, Communications, or a related field would be considered an asset.
