STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK
The Water and Sewerage Department was established in 1980 under the Ministry of Communication and Works to provide the people of the territory with a continuous supply of potable water, along with an environmentally sound sewage disposal service. The Department has seven divisions:

OUR VISION
The Water and Sewerage Department is a customer oriented Government Department that facilitates quality and affordable water supply and sewage disposal to all residents of the British Virgin Islands. OUR MISSION
We seek to ensure the provision of a continuous supply of safe potable water and an environmentally sound sewage disposal service to all residents of the British Virgin Islands, efficiently and at affordable rates. OUR VALUES

OUR ROLES
In fulfilling its mission the following roles are included in the responsibilities of the Water and Sewerage Department.
• Operate and maintain Government’s water and sewerage infrastructure and mechanical plant
• Collect and account for monies due to Government for water usage and sewage disposal, along with other services rendered by the Department
• Formulate and develop plans for water and sewerage infrastructure and other projects within the policies and regulations of Government
• Responsibly manage and account for funds allocated by Government to the Department
• Supply data and advice to Government on water and sewerage matters
BASIC SERVICES
• Provide supply of potable water
• Testing of water
• Water and wastewater counsel
• Payment plans on outstanding water and sewerage accounts
• 24 hours emergency water and sewerage standards
