WTJX Virgin Islands Public Broadcasting System WTJX is the PBS and NPR member stations serving the Virgin Islands. WTJX Channel 12 is the Virgin Islands Public Broadcasting System.

The System is run by a Board of Directors, and the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the System. The basic goal of the System is to advance the general welfare of the community through educational, cultural and public affairs programming, local and national, for the population of the Virgin Islands. The Station’s general policy is set by the Board of Directors

. Some oversight duties are exercised by the V.I. Government’s Executive and Legislative branches. The Legislative branch appropriates and the Executive branch allots the majority of the funds necessary for the operation of the System. Like all Public Television Stations, the System is eligible for funds from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which is a private corporation created by the Federal government. It is the largest single source of funding for television and radio programming; and like all broadcast outlets, the System is regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). WTJX is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), a private, non-profit media enterprise, owned and operated by member stations which produces and distributes programs.

In the letters, O’Neal’s four children — Jade Daniel, Jafari Daniel, Jhaquoi O’Neal, and Jhakief O’Neal — portrayed their mother as a deeply religious, honest, and selfless public servant whose life has been defined by service to her family, community, and government.

Her siblings recalled how their sister stepped into a parental role after their mother’s death, helping raise younger brothers, managing household responsibilities, and providing emotional support and guidance.

O’Neal’s seven-year prison term is followed by three years of supervised release; a $50,000 fine; restitution in the amount of $34,345.39, jointly and severally with Martinez; forfeiture in the amount of $17,730; and $400 in special assessments. Kearney ordered O’Neal to self-surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on June 23. Pending her surrender, O’Neal will be placed on home detention with an electronic ankle monitor.

Letters of support submitted to court before Jenifer O’Neal’s sentencing describe the former OMB director as a public servant whose conviction was out of character.
