The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco participated in the celebration of Africa Day 2026 in Hanoi.
On the evening of May 22 in Hanoi, the Embassies of African countries in Vietnam held a ceremony to celebrate Africa Day 2026. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Mr. Le Anh Tuan as Guest of Honor, together with representatives of Vietnamese ministries and agencies, members of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, and the African diaspora in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi, Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors, highlighted the significance of the 63rd anniversary of Africa Day and reaffirmed Africa’s commitment to unity, sustainable development, and economic integration under the African Union Agenda 2063.
Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi emphasized that the African Union has designated 2026 as the Year of “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063,” stressing the importance of water security, climate resilience, and sustainable development for the continent’s future.
The Ambassador also welcomed the growing partnership between Africa and Vietnam, expressing hope for stronger cooperation in areas such as agriculture, trade, education, technology transfer, and sustainable development within the framework of South-South cooperation.
