On the afternoon of August 8 at Phu Cat Airport, the Gia Lai Department of Education and Training welcomed Le Kien Thanh, a student from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Quy Nhon), who had just returned from Bolivia after winning a gold medal at the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).

This is the first time Gia Lai has a student win gold at this prestigious international informatics competition. It is not only a source of pride for Thanh and his family, but also a historic milestone for Le Quy Don High School and the province’s education sector, affirming the position of Gia Lai students on the global stage.

Hello everyone,
My name is Ngoc Hanh, and I am earnestly searching for my biological mother – a mother I have never met. After more than 52 years apart, my deepest wish is to see her face or learn any information about the woman who brought me into this world.

📍 Information about my mother:

Name: Possible names include Mai Le, Mai Li, Li My Phuong, or Li Phuong Mai (I'm uncertain of the exact name, but I often called her Mai Le or Li).
Timeline: In November 1971, my mother worked with the 129th Assault Helicopter Company at An Son, Tuy Phuoc, Binh Dinh (now the 655th Transport Regiment of Military Zone 5, Phuoc Thanh, Tuy Phuoc).
It was here that my parents met, fell in love, and lived together like husband and wife for about 10 months. In September 1972, my father returned to the United States when my mother was eight and a half months pregnant with me.
Around 1972, after I was born, my mother brought me to an orphanage or childcare center near Holy Family Hospital (now Quy Nhon City Medical Center).
Details: My father was affectionately called "Mogen" by my mother. She was older than my father and had a child around 5-6 years old (gender unknown) before meeting him. I was born an Amerasian child and later adopted by another family.
🙏 I sincerely hope that with this limited information, someone in the community may be able to help me reconnect with my birth mother. Any information, sharing, or support would be invaluable. My family and I are deeply grateful, and we are prepared to offer a reward for any helpful information.

Ba tôi thường được mẹ gọi là Mogen. Mẹ tôi lớn tuổi hơn ba tôi, và trước khi gặp ba, mẹ đã có một người con tầm 5-6 tuổi (không rõ trai hay gái). Tôi được sinh ra là bé gái lai Mỹ và sau đó được một gia đình khác nhận nuôi.

During his cycling journey through Vietnam, Park Hyochul – a South Korean born in 1983 – had an unforgettable and heartwarming experience while passing through Phu Cat, Binh Dinh Province. While captivated by the stunning central landscapes, he accidentally dropped his bag containing essential documents, cash, and bank cards – items crucial for a foreign traveler unfamiliar with a new country.

Faced with the loss of these important belongings, Park found himself in a difficult situation, uncertain how to continue his journey. Fortunately, in this moment of misfortune, luck came his way. A young girl named Bang Vy (Nguyen Thi Vy) from Binh Dinh happened to find his bag. With a sense of responsibility and kindness, she contacted the fan pages Binh Dinh Thong Tin (Fb.com/BinhDinhThongTin) and Quy Nhon (Fb.com/QuyNhon) to post information about the lost items. 🌟

Thanks to the quick and helpful actions of the online community, the news reached the Korean Embassy overnight. Shortly after, the embassy contacted Park, offering him new hope. They believe that Saint Tran protects Quy Nhon from severe storm damage by redirecting the winds.
