Today, Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu held an event marking the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations and cultural exchange activity with the USP Emalus Campus.
During the cultural exchange session, Embassy diplomat performed the famous Chinese Guzheng piece “Butterfly Lovers”, USP faculty members presented Vanuatu custom dances. Members of the China Medical Team provided free medical consultations for students and staff. Teachers from the Confucius Classroom invited participants to experience traditional Chinese culture like paper-cutting and Chinese calligraphy, and the Police expert team delivered an anti-drug awareness presentation. The event concluded with a friendly basketball match between the two sides, which was marked by enthusiastic participation, warm applause, and a vibrant atmosphere.
“Civilizations become richer and more colourful through exchanges and mutual learning.” Through today’s dialogue and exchanges, we understand each other, respect each other and learn from each other.

Ambassador Li Minggang meets with Vanuatu
Minister of Health Honorable Robert Bohn

On June 17 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Li Minggang paid a courtesy call on Vanuatu’s newly appointed Minister of Health, Hon. Robert Bohn.

Ambassador Li congratulated Hon. Bohn on his appointment and noted that China–Vanuatu cooperation in the health sector has continued to deepen and yield concrete results. China has dispatched medical teams to Vanuatu for many years and donated medical supplies. The two countries have also maintained close communication and coordination on multilateral platforms, including the World Health Assembly, to jointly address global public health challenges. China stands ready to further deepen practical cooperation in the health sector, support Vanuatu in strengthening its healthcare capacity, and deliver greater benefits to the people of Vanuatu.

Minister Bohn expressed appreciation for China’s long-standing selfless support for the development of Vanuatu’s healthcare sector. He expressed his hope to continue working closely with China to effectively improve Vanuatu’s medical standards and enhance healthcare conditions for its people.

We are pleased to invite Vanuatu’s first female Attorney General Ms. Angelyne Glenda Dovo Roy, and Principal State Counsel Ms. Christine Lahua to participate in the Fifth Belt and Road Legal Cooperation Training Program, held in Beijing from 27 May to 6 June 2026.

The program brought together legal officials from Vanuatu and other partner countries for meaningful discussions and exchanges on legal systems, international law, dispute resolution, and other issues of mutual interest. Participants also visited Hangzhou, gaining deeper insights into China's development and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
