🌺 Meet Wendy Nial Tomasi — A Leader Making a Difference in Tafea Province 🌺

For over a decade, Wendy Nial Tomasi has been serving her community as the Provincial Community Liaison Officer with the Department of Women’s Affairs in Tafea Province. Her work is driven by a passion for supporting women and girls and creating opportunities that help communities thrive.
Wendy’s leadership journey started early — at home, in church, and in school — where she learned the value of responsibility and service. Her career path has been inspiring: she became the first female Area Secretary for the West Tanna Area Council from 2012 to 2014 and previously worked with World Vision Vanuatu, helping rural women learn to read and write.
Known for her resilience, confidence, and willingness to take on new challenges, Wendy has earned the trust of leaders and community members alike. She continues to collaborate closely with local leaders while navigating challenges such as transport, weather, and community availability.
Wendy is also proud to have mentored young women through CARE Vanuatu’s Young Women’s Leadership Program, where she participated in leadership workshops and guided emerging leaders — many of whom now hold roles across various workplaces. Her influence has reached schools in Tanna, where she is recognised as a role model.
