📢 LEEP Strengthens Staff Capacity Through In-Country Recruitment Database (IRD) Workshop

The Labour Employment and Export Program (LEEP) Unit of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour (MCIL) successfully conducted an In-Country Recruitment Database (IRD) Workshop on 3rd June 2026 at Taumeasina Island Resort. The workshop brought together all LEEP staff and PLMSP support staff with the aim of enhancing their knowledge and practical skills in the use of the IRD system.

The IRD system plays a vital role in the daily operations of the LEEP Unit, supporting key functions such as data management, recruitment, mobilization, reporting, and the consistent application of recruitment processes and procedures. Strengthening staff capability in the use of the system is essential to ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

The workshop was facilitated by the IRD Coordinator, with valuable support from the Training and Implementation Team based in Australia and New Zealand. Participants were provided with practical guidance and updates to improve their understanding and use of the system.

LEEP extends its sincere appreciation to the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program (PLMSP) Australia for its generous support and funding of this workshop. This partnership continues to contribute significantly to building staff capacity and strengthening labour mobility services in Samoa.
