‼️MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS
May 2026 compared to May 2025:

❖ The Consumer Price Index increased by 2.1%
❖ The most significant price increases were:
✓ Transport (11.7%)
✓ Alcoholic beverages, to***co and narcotics (4.7%)
✓ Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (6.3%)

❖ The CPI increased by 3.1% from April 2026
❖ The Average Annual Inflation was 1.0%

This morning, our Economics team conducted the weekly local market survey, continuing the important work of gathering data on the availability, quantity, and prices of agricultural produce and fish sold at the main markets.

This year also marks an important step forward for these surveys, with data now being collected using tablets through an in-house system developed by the team. The introduction of digital data collection has helped improve the efficiency, timeliness, and quality of market data collection and processing. These data will be used to produce the Local Market Survey Report and contribute to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) report.
