MAA meetings were conducted at different Health Institutions under Golagaon BPHC with the participation of pregnant and lactating mothers.

The sessions focused on promoting early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, appropriate complementary feeding, maternal nutrition and healthy Infant & Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.

Through counselling and community interaction, mothers were encouraged and supported to adopt optimal feeding practices for the healthy growth, nutrition and development of their children.

A day-long orientation and discussion on the NQAS checklist was conducted at Jalah Block for CHOs and Medical Officers, focusing on quality standards, gap identification and facility preparedness.

The session was conducted by the District Nodal Officer (Quality) in the presence of the District Quality Consultant, MO i/c Nimua Model Hospital, Deputy Superintendent of Salbari Model Hospital, and all BPMU members of Jalah Block.

The initiative aims to strengthen facility-level preparedness and improve the quality of healthcare services across Jalah Block.

A Snakebite Awareness Programme was conducted at 24th APBn, Charaimari, Mushalpur, by Dr. Mohan Ch. Boro and team.

The session focused on snakebite prevention, essential first aid, avoiding harmful traditional practices, and the importance of immediate referral to a health facility for timely and appropriate treatment.

The programme aimed to improve awareness and preparedness for effective management of snakebite emergencies.

The State Public Health Observer Team (SPOT) from NCDC, comprising Dr. Saurav Debnath, Assistant Director (Microbiology) and Ms. Nimisha Bhuyan, Assistant Director (Public Health), visited Baksa District on 2nd and 3rd September 2026.

During the visit, the team assessed Barama BPHC, Borbori MPHC, Athiabari SD, and the District Surveillance Unit (DSU), IDSP Baksa, with a focus on disease surveillance, reporting mechanisms, laboratory preparedness and overall public health response systems.

The visit provided valuable technical guidance for further strengthening IDSP and disease surveillance activities across the district.

A Review Meeting on the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) programme-cum-Workshop on School Health Club was organized today at DEIC, Mushalpur, under the chairmanship of the Joint Director of Health Services, Baksa.

The programme focused on reviewing the implementation and performance of RBSK activities and strengthening the School Health Club initiative to promote health awareness, healthy lifestyles and overall well-being among school-going children.

The meeting was attended by the DPM, DCO, DCM, DFPC, DDSM, SDM&HO Jalah BPHC, BPMs, BCMs, BCOs and Mobile Health Teams (MHTs) of all blocks.

The workshop also emphasized effective coordination between field teams and schools for successful implementation of School Health Clubs across the district.

The District Development Committee (DDC) meeting for August was held at the DRDA Conference Hall in Mushalpur to review the implementation of various government schemes and assess the progress of ongoing development projects across Baksa district.

Dr. Indranoshee Das, ACS Hon’ble Guardian Officer of Baksa District, accompanied by her team, visited various health facilities across the district to review healthcare services, programme implementation and facility-level functioning.

During the visit, the team inspected Jaripara AAM, Barama Model Hospital, Barama CHC/PHC, Dighaldonga MPHC, and Dr. Ravi Boro Civil Hospital, interacting with healthcare providers and reviewing service delivery, infrastructure and key public health activities.

The visit concluded with an observation and briefing meeting at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Baksa, under the chairmanship of the District Commissioner, Baksa, where key observations, gaps and priority areas for further improvement of healthcare services were discussed.

The visit was attended and facilitated by the ADC (Health), Joint Director of Health Services, DSO, DMO, DPMU and concerned BPMU teams, along with Medical Officers and other health staff.
