Last week marked the final day of the 103rd General Assembly, and with it, the end of my time representing the 45th District. These past two years have been nothing short of transformative, and I’m filled with gratitude for the incredible opportunity to serve.

It’s hard to put into words the mix of emotions I’m feeling. I’ve deeply loved this work, cherished the chance to fight for the people of Illinois, and been inspired by the amazing individuals I’ve had the privilege to work alongside.

While stepping away was not an easy decision, I know it was the right choice for now. I’m excited for what lies ahead and the new ways I can continue to make an impact. Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and trust—this isn’t goodbye, I’ll just see you on a new path forward!

This spring, I had the privilege of collaborating with Gary Dougherty of the American Diabetes Association and Senator Julie Morrison on SB3414/HB5382 to expand access to continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) for individuals with diabetes. These life-changing devices empower people to better manage their diabetes and reduce the risk of complications. I’m deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to these efforts, including the dedicated staff in Springfield and members of HFS who worked with us on improving access to this vital technology.

Today we hosted our Mobile DMV event in partnership with the Illinois Secretary of State’s office at the Westmont Public Library. Many thanks to Joanna, Priscilla and Joe for their work, to Margaret for helping to educate people about being organ donors, and to Gavin and Sue for setting up this great event! It was great to meet constituents, answer questions and help over 40 people with their licenses, state ID cards and or Real IDs today. 🪪
