In view of the escalation of the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict, the Philippine Embassy advises all Filipino nationals in the affected areas to:

1. Monitor the News - Read the latest updates on the security situation in the affected and surrounding areas by following government sources and reliable news outlets.
2. Follow Advisories - Pay close attention to official advisories from national and local agencies, and strictly follow instructions from authorities to ensure your safety.
3. Avoid Conflict Areas - Stay away from areas where military operations are reported. Avoid military camps, facilities, and forces.
4. Report Your Situation – Keep the Embassy informed of your current location and circumstances by contacting the Embassy’s Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) hotline or email as follows:

DFA WELCOMES THE FIRST GROUP OF FILIPINOS FROM IRAN VIA DFA-FUNDED REPATRIATION EFFORTS

Pasay City, 28 June 2025 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) joined other agencies consisting of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in warmly welcoming the first batch of six (6) evacuees who arrived this morning in the Philippines from Iran via Turkmenistan, with two (2) more Overseas Filipinos (OFs) arriving shortly after.

Repatriation efforts led by the DFA, through the Office of the Undersecretary for Migration Affairs’ (DFA-OUMA) Rapid Response Team (RRT) deployed in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan were conducted on 26 June 2025 that assisted eight (8 ) OFs, who fled from Iran due to the ongoing conflict in the region to return home to the Philippines.

The DFA’s Rapid Response Team (RRT) was assisted by the Malaysian Embassy in Turkmenistan, and also assisted the Philippine Embassy in Tehran, Iran (Tehran PE) in the logistical arrangements to fetch the OFs from the Iranian-Turkmen border. The OFs and two (2) Malaysian nationals were earlier assisted by Tehran PE, led by Consul General Jabbar Adiong. The closely orchestrated repatriation mission highlights the spirit of camaraderie and mutual consular interests among ASEAN member-states in the midst of political-security unrest in a foreign region.

Escalating tensions between Israel and Iran have prompted our kababayans to evacuate from worksites in Tehran and other nearby and far-flung cities and seek repatriation assistance from Tehran PE, headed by His Excellency Roberto G. Manalo, in hopes of reuniting with their loved ones. The OFs were readily allowed to enter Turkmenistan without much formalities on humanitarian grounds. They were then escorted by the composite ASEAN repatriation team to Ashgabat International Airport for their connecting flight to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and then to Manila. END

10 MORE FILIPINOS REPATRIATED FROM ODDAR MEANCHEY, CAMBODIA

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirms that 10 more Filipinos from Oddar Meanchey Province in Cambodia were safely repatriated earlier today with the assistance of Cambodian law enforcement authorities and the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh. Representatives from government agencies, including the DFA, DMW, OWWA, IACAT, DOH, and DSWD, were at the airport to personally receive the 10 repatriates and provide them assistance.

In addition to other identified needs, the Philippine Embassy distributed to them care packages and paid for their repatriation flight using the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Fund.

Upon the 10 Filipinos’ arrival at the Immigration headquarters in Phnom Penh yesterday after a nine-hour journey from Oddar Meanchey, the ATN team of the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh delivered to the group hot meals and a fresh batch of care packages.

This latest series of repatriation of Filipinos was undertaken on the back of long-standing friendly ties between the Philippines and Cambodia. The Philippine Embassy has conveyed its profound appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for the favorable attention given to the Philippine Government’s representations for the 10 Filipinos to be brought home to their families.

The entire Philippine Foreign Service renews its call for the Filipino public to heed the Embassy’s Advisory No. 09-2025 on deceptive overseas job opportunities peddled on social media, which could bring miserable, even harmful outcomes in some cases.

While always ready to extend prompt Assistance-to-Nationals service, the Philippine Foreign Service urges prudence and discernment among Filipino online job seekers.

26 FILIPINOS REPATRIATED FROM ODDAR MEANCHEY PROVINCE
16 April 2025

The Philippine Embassy confirms the repatriation of 26 Filipinos from Oddar Meanchey Province in Cambodia today, 16 April 2025.

The Philippine Embassy, upon the request of the concerned Filipinos, had made official representations with the Cambodian government for their release from a company in Samraong Municipality, Oddar Meanchey Province.

The Philippine Government appreciates the assistance extended by the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) in this regard.

The effective coordination between the Embassy and the Cambodian authorities is a testament to the long-standing friendly ties between the Philippines and Cambodia and highlights both governments’ readiness to cooperate closely in matters of mutual concern.

Under the government's whole-of-government approach in resolving such issues, representatives from government agencies, including the DFA, DMW, OWWA, and IACAT, were at the airport to personally receive the 26 repatriates and provide them the assistance.

"The Filipino public can rest assured that under the Bagong Pilipinas program of the President, the DFA's Assistance-to-Nationals mandate will remain a high priority for the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia and for all other Foreign Service Posts around the world," affirmed Atty. DFA REPATRIATES 206 FILIPINOS FROM SCAM HUBS IN MYANMAR

Pasay, 31 March 2025 - The Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of the Undersecretary for Migration Affairs (DFA-OUMA) led the successful repatriation of over 206 Filipino alleged human trafficking victims (HTVs), with the first group of 30 repatriates arriving in Manila via DFA-funded airfare tickets on 25 March 2025 and the next batch of 176 repatriates via a Philippine Airlines (PAL) special chartered flight on the following day, 26 March 2025.

The repatriates were involved in illegal scam centers in Myawaddy, Myanmar and sought the assistance of the Philippine government. Under the One-Country Team Approach (OCTA) of the Philippine Embassies in Yangon and Bangkok, together with the OCTA members from the Department of National Defense - Office of the Defense and Armed Forces Attache (DND-ODAFA), the Philippine National Police - Office of the Police Attache (PNP-OPA), and the Department of Migrant Workers - Migrant Workers Office (DMW-MWO), the repatriates, with the assistance from the OUMA Rapid Response Team (RRT), safely crossed to Mae Sot, Thailand to ensure their safe return home via Bangkok through a PAL chartered flight. RRTs from the Philippine government were present on board the chartered flight and on the ground in Myawaddy, Mae Sot, and Bangkok to provide urgent support to the repatriates.

This mission is among the results of the recent visit to Myanmar and Thailand of DFA Undersecretary for Migration Affairs Eduardo José A. de Vega, who made representations with the Myanmar and Thai authorities for a coordinated and secured cross-border repatriation of the 206 Filipinos. The success of the DFA mission, mere days before the cataclysmic earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand, is a testament to the result of the cooperation of all Government agencies under the DFA’s leadership, and part of what “Bagong Pilipinas” stands for.

Upon arrival in Manila, the repatriates were welcomed by DFA-OUMA and the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) partner agencies, including the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), DMW, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Bureau of Immigration (BI), as supported by PAL and the New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNCI).

In a whole-of-government approach, the Philippine government reaffirms its commitment to protect Filipinos abroad, particularly those identified as alleged victims of human trafficking, and to ensure their needed support and assistance when they return home.

Finally, the DFA wishes to once again remind all aspiring overseas Filipino workers to go through the legal and proper deployment procedures of concerned government agencies, such as the DMW, before leaving the country for overseas employment. END
