📢 **PUBLIC ADVISORY | STOP BEE POACHING**
🐝 **Protect Our Native Bees!**
In line with **Republic Act No. 9147** (Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act of 2001), the illegal collection, hunting, possession, transport, and destruction of wildlife — including **wild native bee colonies** — is strictly prohibited.
Native bees play a vital role in pollination, food production, forest regeneration, and overall biodiversity. The poaching of wild bee colonies threatens our ecosystem, local agriculture, and environmental balance.
📖 **Legal Basis:**
Under **Section 27** of Republic Act No. 9147, it is unlawful to collect, hunt, possess, transport, or destroy wildlife species and their habitats without the necessary permits from the proper authorities.
⚖ **Penalties (Section 28):**
Violators may face:
• **Imprisonment:** 2 to 4 years
• **Fines:** ₱30,000 to ₱300,000
• **Confiscation of wildlife, equipment, and other legal sanctions**
These penalties apply depending on the classification of the species and gravity of the offense.
🌿 Let us protect our forests.
🌼 Let us protect our farmers.
🐝 Let us protect our bees.
We strongly urge everyone to report any illegal wildlife collection or poaching activities to your Local Government Unit (LGU), MENRO, or the nearest DENR office.
Together, we can conserve biodiversity and ensure a sustainable future for the next generations.
